ARMS AND THIGHS

PRE-OPERATIVE

• Provide us with your medical history and lab exams.
• Discontinue using Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, and Vitamin E for one week before and a few days after your procedure as these act as blood thinners.
• It is advisable not to smoke for at least two weeks prior and one after the surgery as nicotine can impair circulation and healing. Avoid sun exposure as not to irritate the skin.

SURGERY

These procedures are performed under local anaesthesia with sedation on an outpatient basis unless otherwise desired by the patient. In order to remove the unwanted skin, an incision is required that runs from near the elbow into the armpit. The incision is made in the least noticeable location. With a mini arm tuck, the scar is limited to a semi-circular line hidden in the armpit. In a Medial Thigh Lift (inner thigh lift), the surgical incision is made in the inner thigh along a line where the leg meets the groin. POST SURGERY

While there is some swelling and bruising, your new trim and toned arms or legs will be perceptible almost immediately after the surgery. You may feel some mild discomfort right after the procedure but prescription pain medication will help alleviate this discomfort. Dressings are applied to the incision and many of the stitches will dissolve, but those that are not self-absorbing are usually removed within a week to 15 days. It is advisable to refrain from strenuous exercise for one month, and avoid lifting heavy items for at least six weeks..
